Roxy is based on a Trappist ale aged in a mix of Cognac and Bordeaux barrels blended with a soured barleywine for extra complexity and a touch of balancing acidity. Enters with a tight tan head on a dark chestnut beer with red highlights. The aroma is dried dark plums, sour cherry, vanilla. The complexity of the nose carries through on the palate with coconut, dark chocolate, and caramelised figs. Viscous mouthfeel with chest warming alcohol and salted caramel finish.
