Gin barrel-aged cherry mead.
We kept some of our finished Stevnsberry blend from the 2020-vintage, and went barrel picking at Oslo Håndverksdestilleri (OHD), taking the most fragrant gin barrel we found with us back home. The barrels were previously used for their pink rosé “Fjæra”, and we let our mead rest for 12 months in it, soaking up all the nuanced notes from the gin.
A more botanical and complex take on Stevnsberry, lending it fruity and firm notes of juniper, citrus rind and oak.
