The Belgians are considered to be among the best in the world at brewing beer, and we certainly agree. In these types of beer, it is the combination of yeast and malt that dominates. Several of these beers are brewed in monasteries, the most famous of which are brewed by monks belonging to the Trappist order. Trappist offers the dark Dubbel, the light and strong Triple and the very heavy Quadruple. For a bright Belgian ale, we would recommend a Belgian blonde that has lots of flavor without being too full-bodied.
